Hey Everyone,

I got accepted to a PT school, and I paid my deposit online with a debit card.
I put down the deposit on Monday, however the school still has not taken the money.
But the school has a checklist online, and under deposit there is a "check" indicating that they received the money.

Does anyone know why they still have not taken the money despite the "check mark"?
Is this because there is a specific day they take all the students deposits?

Thanks

Strange. I mean it can be a lot things. One thing I can think of.. Maybe the transaction process takes a bit longer. Usually schools will send you a confirmation email saying that you paid. If i were you, I would take a picture of the checked list/save it and call in everyday if they received it.

Sometimes the bank will verify things and what not, especially with an amount that large. It's happened to me before. My transactions on my bank statement will say 'pending' next to it but I will get a verification from the company that they received my payment. It's pretty much just a temporary hold. Idk how to really explain it...clearly my calling has nothing to do with accounting/money/banks lol.

I would have proof that you made that statement. Print out your electronic banking statement. Don't send another check. It'll take you months to get it back. Even in this age, not everything is instant. Your position is secure.

the admission department usually receives the check and then update via website that they received it, However, they then send the check over to accounting office who is responsible for processing the check. Depending on how often per week it is done and the delay time that it takes could result in your dilemma. Reason I say this was because, I called my admissions office to ask them if they processed my check yet and if it cleared. And the admissions told me they don't know because they put it in the mail to be sent on to the accounting office who then processes it.

It's been 17 days since I personally handed in my deposit check to the school and they still haven't processed the check (taken the money out of my account). I kind of feel like that's a little too long. Probably will call the school next week if nothing changes.
