Help in getting a better range of schools is appreciated. 🙂

I know that with my lousy MCAT score, I have to apply more broadly. I'm just praying it doesn't get me screened out of most schools.

As always, going through SDN doesn't really help boost morale...it's like walking through a very select, elite bunch of applicants. Everyone here has great GPAs and MCAT scores and on top of that great ECs. Makes you wonder how many times I have to save the world single-handedly to even be on par with the population on SDN.😛

Why bother applying to Columbia, Stanford, UCLA, UCSF, Yale, Mayo and Einstein. You know you won't get in, so focus your resources elsewhere. Brown and Dartmouth are questionable as well.

You may wish to retake the MCAT during your year off in case this cycle's applications don't work out. ELiminating the schools mentioned above will save you a lot of time and money.

You can consider adding Jefferson Medical College and GW, as well as MCW.

Your MCAT scores aren't lousy, but they eliminate you from the top schools and are lower than one may expect given your strong Science background. Don't waste your time and money applying to schools you won't get into.
