School List Help 22-23 cycle

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Not really an expert on school lists so I'd wait for Goro or Faha's feedback but I will say that I definitely don't think you need to apply to DO schools unless you want to be DO. You're stats and EC's are competitive for MD

It would be 13 months long, and I would either be working as a liaison between local doctors and volunteer medical brigades or working in a school as a teaching aid/childcare aid.
Is the service-learning opportunity in Latin America going to happen through your second gap year or is it just a summer or shorter period? What would you be doing in that opportunity?

Interesting... I'm not sure we will all fully return to in-person interviews, but I would be interested in knowing how this involvement and your application submission/follow-up may intersect in your planning. If you have brought this up to admissions recruiters, do you have any feedback on managing your application while you are away?

(I am also presuming your opportunity will not shut down due to additional COVID-19 waves, especially if the country you will be working in has a much lower vaccination rate.)

That is a very good question.. I was planning on getting my secondaries written and ready to go before I left, but I will definitely be cutting it a little close and may have to finish up some while there. As far as interviews go, the program coordinator they said they've had several pre-meds do the program during their application cycle and they were able to line up their interviews so that they only had to take 1-2 trips back to the States. Virtual interviews would make it a ton easier but I'm not counting on it at this point.

And I'm not too worried about this opportunity closing, since it's been happening throughout the pandemic so far.
