Break down your 1000+ hours of clinical volunteering, since you only claim 20 hours of shadowing (none in primary care). Any other community service that does not involve teaching or tutoring?

Appreciate the response! If you are referring to the ~1000 hours of clinical scribing, that was paid work.

I only have 100 hours of clinical volunteering (in a hospital - PACU and PT/OT departments). Beyond that hospital volunteering + teaching/tutoring I don't have any other community service.

Minnesota accepts few non residents with no connection to the state or region. These schools from your list are realistic:
UVA
VCU
EVMS
Virginia Tech
Dartmouth
MCW
Vermont
Georgetown
Jefferson
Pittsburgh
Cincinnati
Case Western
Duke
Emory
Michigan
You could add these schools:
Boston University
Tufts
Hofstra
Einstein
Mount Sinai
Rochester
Tulane
USF Morsani
Miami

Hello! I'll be applying this upcoming cycle (currently in my first gap year) and trying to form a school list. Would love any advice in general or on schools to add/remove from my school list. Also, been having trouble picking mid/low tier schools to add. I would greatly appreciate any feedback, thank you!

cGPA and sGPA: 3.73/3.70
MCAT score(s) and breakdown: 507 (127/125/129/126) --> 518 (129/130/129/130)

State of residence: VA
Ethnicity/Gender: ORM, Asian, Male
Undergraduate institution: Ivy League
Major: Biology
GPA Trend (cGPA/sGPA): Freshman (3.57/3.40), Soph (3.63/3.75), Junior (3.88/3.86), Senior (3.86/3.75)
LizzyM: 73.30
WedgeDawg: 76

Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer):
~ 100 hours hospital volunteering
~ 900-1000 hours orthopedic clinic (scribing during gap year)
Research experience: ~ 1100 hours total (~900 in wet lab + one summer in kinesiology lab) - no pubs, poster at university symposium
Shadowing experience: ~ 20 hours (orthopedic surgery)
Non-clinical volunteering: ~ 230 hours volunteering (under-served elementary afterschool mentoring/teaching)
Other extracurricular activities: 4 years on club sports team (captain for last 2 years - time-consuming)
Hobbies: Exercise, Sports, Hiking, Reading
Anything else not listed you think might be important: interested in ortho/sports medicine

Tentative School List:

UVA
VCU
EVMS
Virginia Tech
Dartmouth
MCW
Minnesota
Vermont
Georgetown
Jefferson
Pittsburgh
Cincinnati
UCLA
Case Western
Duke
Emory
Michigan
Vanderbilt
Cornell
Brown

To me it seems a little top heavy, especially with low volunteer hours clinically. I’d add:

Drexel
UTHSC
ETSU (look up which county of residence you’re from; could be considered IS)
Kaiser
Rush (if you’re continuing your outreach)
Michigan State (same as Rush)
Penn State
Temple
Tulane
Loyola
SLU
Rosalind Franklin
Creighton

Tbh, your stats won’t keep you out of almost any school.

Thank you for the advice @FutureSurgical. I agree with it being top-heavy right now and will definitely look into those schools you suggested.
