Hi, I’d appreciate any help building my school list.

Research Experience:

(200 hours) 1 semester of undergrad research + pandemic halted this experience

Waiting on one publication, 2nd author. May include in an update letter when published.

I’d really appreciate any help with my school list. I feel like I have a rather average application and I fear I submitted too late (6/26)!

You submitted early!
Which Hispanic group do you represent?
Thanks for the reply! I was nervous that my app was late. I've been told from my pre-med friends that applied last cycle and got in that early is anywhere from May 31st- first two wks of June.

Thanks for the list! I will look into these schools.

In light of the recent SCOTUS decision, should I apply to DO schools + is it too late to apply to some? I would attend one if I am not admitted to an MD school this cycle. However, I have not shadowed or worked alongside any DO physicians. Would this hurt my chances? My PCP is a DO physician; this is the only connection I have.

which Hispanic community are your from ? Are you fluent in Spanish ?

Parents are Ecuadorian. I hesitate in saying I'm 100% fluent since I compare it to my English ability, which will always be better. I would say my Spanish is very advanced, and I would be comfortable doing my medical school interviews completely in Spanish. I completed a Spanish minor and I tutored beginner to intermediate Spanish students at my college and I held a leadership position in my college's hispanic cultural club for 2 years. In my new MA position, I've spoken to a couple of patients in Spanish.
The recent SCOTUS decision will not be a factor at the schools I listed. Apply to all of them and you should receive several interviews. Submit your application this month and all your secondaries by August.
