School list help! 521 MCAT / 3.98 cGPA

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You should remove Toledo, Indiana University. These are state public medical schools for states you are not a resident of that accept very few non-residents.

Your app is very strong and you are a fullbright scholar your EC's are not weak. You should receive several interview from your school list. @Goro and @Faha would give the best advice.

Thank you! I think I heard from somewhere that they were OOS friendly but I must have heard wrong

I could add it...but I think my heart is more set on Stanford/UCSF/UCSD as my super reaches :')
Wow that's a first ever but i feel like you are competitve for anything.

^Thanks for the input, all. I was a bit concerned that my list is top heavy but I guess might as well give it a shot!

Hi all- I'm applying this upcoming cycle and would love some help with formulating a school list. My GPA and MCAT are pretty solid, but I think my ECs are on the average/weak side so I'm not quite sure how competitive I would be 🙁.

State of residence: Oregon
Ethnicity: Asian/caucasian mix
School: Top 3 LAC
MCAT: 521 (132/128/131/130)
cGPA: 3.98; science GPA: 4.0

Clinical volunteering
-~200hrs in hospital ER doing some Chinese translation with non-English speaking patients, helping patients with insurance sign up, also trained new volunteers.
-~50hrs in hospital in Taiwan

Research:
~1000+ hrs, including ~200hrs in a research lab abroad.

Teaching/mentoring:
-Summer teaching English in Japan (~200hrs+)
- ~400hrs mentoring undergrad classes (orgo, genetics, cell bio, etc.)

Shadowing: ~40hrs

Other campus ECs:
-Officer of a student organization
-Dance (ballroom, ballet), music (piano)

Awards/honors: Phi Beta Kappa

Gap year plans: Fulbright ETA in Taiwan

Current preliminary school list:

OHSU
George Washington
Thomas Jefferson
Rush
Loyola
Toledo
Indiana University
Tufts
Albert Einstein
Ohio State
Eastern Virginia
University of Michigan
University of Virginia
Stanford
UCSF
UCLA
UCSD
Cornell
University of Chicago
USC
BU
Columbia
Mt. Sinai
UPenn
WashU

Currently going to school in California and would love to stay here if I can (hence all the Cali schools in my list), but I'm not sure if they're worth a shot since I'm OOS and they're all so competitive. Also since I'm going to be abroad during interview season, I'm thinking of minimizing the number of MMI schools that I apply to since those will likely offer less flexibility when it comes to scheduling interviews. My plan is to schedule two trips home for around a week each and try to squeeze as many interviews as I can during those times. Since being abroad will really make interviewing risky, I'm really hoping for a smart school list T_T

Would appreciate all the help/insight I can get!

So you are looking into Stanford/UCSF/UCSD? I should say good luck to them! 🙂
