Questions:
  1. For activities like outdoor orientation trip leader and tax volunteer, I have significant time put into training – does training time count as activity time?
  2. Do I list my hobbies hours as part of the application? What about research hours for credit?
  3. I took my first year writing course from a STEM dept, can the course count for Eng. Composition usually?
  4. Any major EC weakness that I should address?

May I ask why? I know they are expensive, but they are also the most international friendly.
true true
if you were a US citizen, that would be the correct advice, but i guess you need to leave them...

You should focus on your time serving others. Training doesn't usually count there, but you could mention it separately in the description.

Do I list my hobbies hours as part of the application? What about research hours for credit?
Hobbies can be listed in your activities description. Research for credit should be noted as being for credit but you can include what you did.

I took my first year writing course from a STEM dept, can the course count for Eng. Composition usually?
If it is clearly noted as fulfilling your school's composition or writing requirement, you should be fine. Check with your prehealth advisors and any admissions representatives you network with.

Understand how you would pay for dental school if you are not eligible for US loans. Not ask schools will give you grants because you are international. Understand which schools are mission oriented and expect you to work in underserved areas in their states.

Find other international students at the schools you rant to attend. ASDA chapters should be helpful.
