I only applied MD last cycle but will be adding DO this cycle and am looking for some advice on schools. I want to avoid spending a lot of money on travel should I be lucky enough to get interviews so I want to keep it close to florida. Here are my stats:

3.71 cgpa with large upward trend
3.8 sgpa
514 MCAT

5 years active duty
700+ research with plenty of posters and a second author paper in the works (paper just got submitted to nature)
70 hours shadowing in oncology.
95 hours volunteering in hospital (added 25 hours before COVID cancelled volunteering)
Leadership experience from military but not much after
ECs: club sport, running (marathons), gardening, baking
~800 hours ED scribe (new addition to the app that is ongoing)

I am pretty confident with this MD list though I might remove FAU because low yield (bold = 2019 interview)

New mexico
Wayne State
Evms
TCU
Wake forest
George washington
Georgetown
VCU
Quinnipiac
NYMC
Drexel
Sidney kimmel
Temple
Uniformed Se
UM (miller)
FIU
FAU
FSU
NOVA MD
USF
Mayo MN

I am less confident in choosing DO schools and only have these so far

All NSU
LECOM Bradenton
PCOM
ACOM

I know this list is small but looking on here:
It looks like the most bang for my buck being an Fl. resident.

Any thoughts on how I could improve either list?

That list is not very geographically centered if you're trying not to travel much beyond Florida. If you're serious about staying in your region, focus only on those schools in the region (FL, GA, AL, SC, NC, TN). Mind the public school OOS acceptance trends.

A little hesitant on UF since I put so much effort into their secondary last cycle and got no love but the others looks good, thank you.

If it is one of your in-state options, I would not easily remove them if you have made significant improvements to your application and your networking.
