School List Help Please

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hello,

Just for some background I'm a non-URM from CA with a 3.78 cGPA and a 3.7 sGPA, 31 MCAT (11/10/10). I've compiled my school list but need help paring it down because there's too many. Any suggestions? For context, I have extensive service and leadership experience, research (w/ pub), and pretty solid letters of rec.

and of course all of my state schools (which I'm applying to despite them all being huge reaches.)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: So far I have been advised to remove Dartmouth, Brown, GW, Georgetown, Cooper, the SUNY's and Virginia Tech. I am looking to remove ~3-5 more schools.

Overall your list looks fine. I agree with removing the SUNYs, Brown, maybe even Rochester and Iowa. The SUNYs are public institutions and accept a very low number of OOS applicants. Tulane, Georgetown, GW, and Drexel accept an insanely large number of applicants for their available seats.
The trick is to apply broadly and early! Good luck.

Good choice removing SUNYs and Carilion. The AZ schools don't seem like a great choice to me. Phoenix has a total class size of 80 w/ 31% OOS. However, with such a small class size I think the competition would be just brutal. Many of the schools you listed require biochem so make sure you have that.

Would you recommend applying to Tulane, GW, Georgetown, and Drexel then? Also I don't know how SDN works but thank you @ticktock5051, I do have biochem in my class list luckily. Didn't know that about Arizona

Yes because you never know if you have a good chance of getting an interview unless you apply, and your MCAT is within their range. My advice is to write your best personal statement and pre-write your secondaries by looking through the older allopathic school forums (previous years' prompts).
