Hi guys, i was wondering what other schools i should add or remove from my list? I have lower stats so Im trying to apply to around 15. I have a 3.01 overall with an upward trend the last 2 years, and I am attending a master program this fall. my DAT is 19AA/ 19TS (21 OC/ 20GC / 17 bio / 20 rc / 17 PAT / 17 QR). Florida Resident. I also worked as a dental assistant for a year, and have volunteer and shadowing hours

on my list so far:
1. UF
2. Nova
3. LECOM
4. Midwestern AZ
5. Midwestern IL
6. Buffalo
7. Western
8. UNLV
9. Louisville
10. Tufts
11. Roseman

possibly adding?
1. USC
2. Boston
3. NYU
4. ASDOH (but i heard you need plenty of volunteer hours?)
5. Meharry
6. Temple

I like your list...Buffalo might be a reach, but it's a good list

You may need to apply to more than 15 schools considering your stats. When will the masters be completed? Are you a URM? If not, then I would take Meharry off the list. If you don't have significantly more than 500 volunteer hours, I would take ASDOH off your list as well. Keep the others and I would probably think about adding other private schools or state schools with high OOS acceptance rates.

its an 18th month track, but i went to an open house at a dental school over the weekend and he said if i get straight A's and prove myself in the masters i will at least get an interview there. I am an URM.

Hmm, I am not sure, I guess I just overlooked it, I'll add it to my list! thanks!

If this masters is an 18 month track...wouldn't you have to wait til next cycle? If you start in the fall and go until next fall, then that is 12 months. Then another 6 months would probably bring you to January/February 2016. Double check on your masters if its 18 months. If its 18 months, then you should apply in the 2015-2016 cycle, unless you withdraw in the middle of your masters to go to dental school. Not sure if you would want to pay all that money to do that, but again its your choice. Good luck!
