I think your new app is definitely an improvement from the previous one. I also think that you should still aim high, but if you don't get off the waitlist, please submit in June this time. Submitting late probably hurt you. Also see if you can somehow check off the shadowing box - it's not an absolutely necessity, as you have experience with scribing, but just to be safe.

With regards to your list, you can keep all of these schools, but you'll have to apply broader this time.

Consider: Rochester, OSU, Cincinnati, WashU, Vanderbilt, Hofstra, Cornell, Miami.
