Hi! I know this is really late but I'm just looking for any last minute feedback on my school list! I just want to make sure that I'm applying broadly enough but not including too many low-yield schools. I'm also not sure if I have a good balance of public vs private schools. Any other recommendations welcome!!! The current list is at 30, but it was longer before I cut out some low-yield schools so I'm def willing to apply to more lol (am currently prewriting secondaries)

  1. 3.99 GPA
  2. MCAT: 516 (128/128/128/132)
  3. NY resident (studying at UCLA, trad/no gap yr)
  4. ORM (Chinese)
  5. Clinical experience: ~200 hrs hospital volunteering, ~370 hrs as a scribe, both for the last year and a half
  6. Research experience and productivity: ~400 hrs as a research assistant, but no pubs or presentations
  7. Shadowing experience and specialties represented: 50 hrs w/ PCP
  8. Non-clinical volunteering: 70+ hrs as a crisis counselor, 110+ hrs w/ a non-profit that provides programs for reading and writing for k-12 students, some hours at some conservation org events
  9. Other extracurricular activities: VP for a student org that organizes support groups for brain injury survivors. no significant hobbies

What is your Casper or PREview score?
What is your purpose to becoming a physician, and what populations do you see yourself working with in 10 years?

Your NY in-state list looks fine, but mission match will help with all your schools. Mind that some of your OOS schools would like to see more non-clinical community service (at least Georgetown, I think St. Louis). What draws you to TCU and UNTHSC? I'm also noticing no Boston schools though you have Vermont and Dartmouth? Why Western Michigan?

Might swap out the TX schools for UMass, which is OOS-friendly.

Moved to WAMC.

Take out VTech, which is a research focused school that prefers students from around the region, and TCU, who's mission is about humanistic medicine. You don't seem to fit the profile for either.

Georgetown may expect more service. You can add Hackensack and Miami instead.
