On 3rd cycle. Just got MCAT retake back only went up from a 507 to 508. 3.9 GPA. TX resident. ORM. 900 hrs clinical and nonclinical research. 200 shadowing. 900 PT aide hours. 150 non clinical volunteering. Would appreciate any recommendations on which OOS schools to add to my school list that my stats are competitive for and that aren’t too biased against TX applicants, reapplicants, or OOS applicants in general.

Thanks in advance!

Summarize your results from your other two attempts (interviews, decisions). Where else did you apply previously?

1st time around one interview to Tyler.
2nd time around interviewed at Tyler and a&m.
WL both cycles
Applied some OOS Which I know now as low yield and did not receive an interview

Here’s is what I’m roughly planning on so far let me know if there’s any that are low yield or any that I am missing: U Arkansas, UNM, Rush, U of Vermont, Drexel, temple, Oklahoma, Wayne state, wright state, Rosalind, u of SC, Az Tucson, and MCW

OOS MD schools admit few Texas residents since they know from years of experience that Texas residents will attend a Texas school. Rush expects hundreds or thousands of hours of non clinical volunteering. New Mexico only admits ~2 non residents per year. Apply broadly to DO schools instead of OOS MD.
