Hey guys! first post here.

GA resident

I need help compiling a school list for the upcoming cycle...so far I'm thinking:

Touro's, PCOM (Philly and GA), WUCOM, AZCOM, KCUMB.

Quick ECs: 45 hrs shadowing, 140+ clinical volunteering, 140+ non-clinical volunteering, starting an ED scribe opportunity within a week

Stats: 3.58s, 3.83nons, 3.66cum....MCAT 2x...weak part of app as my scores fluctuated but stayed the same overall. 10/8/10, 9/11/8

For the future: Still need to shadow a D.O. and obtain an LOR.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Are there any schools that have an instate preference? is there a resource for this?

Yea don't bother with oucom msucom Oklahoma state. To a smaller degree rowan and kinda Nyit (but very small for Nyit).

Try mercer also. Your list is good. I would add two more schools since touros kcumb and azcom are super picky for mcat and Pcom pa is the ultimate crabshoot since it has the most apps. Plenty of very qualified candidates are rejected. Should very likely get into Pcom ga

You have a GREAT shot at your instate MD.

As per their faq:

The average GPA at Medical College of Georgia at GRU was 3.68 (science 3.64), average MCAT was 30.8.

You're at their average for ENTERING. You're golden.

I'd add DMU, Nova, NYIT to your list as well.

Don't apply to burrell, LUCOM, NYIT-Arkansas.

So here's my updated list...please review my stats and see if I left any out.

DMU
NSU
AZCOM
PCOM-PA
PCOM-GA
TUCOM-CA
TUCOM-NY
CCOM
WUCOM
KCUMB
NYIT (I know in state bias, but I come from an instate technological school and thought it might be a fit 😉 )
LECOM-B

schools I may consider but am leaning away from...
MUSOM = that OOS tuition..
OSU = in state bias
ATs = low gpas were a bit disconcerting

For what it's worth, I'm using a third party resource for stats (careerjunkie) Let me know what yall think!

Scratch that. Can't apply to the Touros as they require 6 behavioral science hours (Psych, Sociology, or Anthropology). I've only taken Psych, but I guess upon interview (if given the chance) I could maybe enroll in a sociology course the following spring somewhere?

Along with Marian, Rowan, and Western U. My undergrad used the term "Social Science" as opposed to a Behavioral Science requirement. Ironically, I opted not to take Soc (not even sure Anthro was offered at my school) and took courses like Psych and Philosophy. From what I see, schools want to see Sociology (not sure if they've always wanted it, or since the implementation of the new MCAT). Oh, and I'm no longer in school, so I would have to take a class post bac?
