Hey everyone, I am very close to submitting my application, and I am wondering if I have considered enough statistics to have my school choice list narrowed down. I have definitely looked at some excel sheets and websites regarding certain stats, but just wanna make sure from others who have gone through this process or are currently going through this process.

AZ resident
GPA: 4.0
sGPA: 4.0
AA: 24
TS: 25
PAT: 20

Please don't take this by any means that I am trying to brag or anything I have been trying to narrow down some options. I have about 130 shadowing hours and around 200 community service hours, no research. Here is my current list:

UCLA
UCSF (dream school)
Washington
ASDOH
Midwestern AZ
Maryland
Penn
OHSU
Colorado
Iowa
(maybe NYU)

I know UCLA and UCSF and not OOS friendly, but they are both schools I really hope to get into. I prefer to stay west coast. Thanks for all your help everyone.

none. Just kidding, as long as your extracurriculars and your letters are solid, you should have no problem getting interviews for most of these schools. GL

Why not Harvard or Columbia? Your stats are amazing!

Ive heard a lot about Harvard wanting to see research experience, not sure to what extent that's true. Also I think Columbia wants three LORs from professors if I'm not mistaken? I only have two :/ (correct me if I am wrong on the LOR requirements I don't remember and their site is currently unavailable, and also if you know anything more about Harvard). Thanks
Any other suggestions?

Even though Harvard might want to see the research experience, it doesn't hurt to try with your stats! Also how about including UNC on your list? They are definitely not OOS friendly, but I bet you can make it to the interview for sure with those stats 🙂

I know Harvard wants three LOR from instructors. Kind of botches other LOR's in my opinion since you can only have a total of 4 all together.

I haven't looked into it, but for schools with unique requirements it might be best not to tailor your central application to them but instead see if you can send their special requirements separately to their adcoms.

Also, its not too late to go hunt down a 3rd LOR form an instructor! Better hurry though, a lot of schools are finishing for the semester!

I've heard the same thing about sending them separately to adcoms if they are fine with it. It might be a bit late for me since school finished for us and I live in a different town :/

With the three professor LOR requirement for Harvard im not sure if I can. I havent considered UNC but I will take a look cause Ive heard its a great school

If I had known that most school adcoms would be fine with that I would have approached this LOR situation differently. But I only thought four max was the only way around it and didnt consider it any more than that so mistake on my part
