In one of my secondary applications it specifically asks if I've conducted research that's been published. I have...although the research was conducted through a course I took and published in a journal that is put together by the school. I highly doubt this research would be listed on any official publication site, but was wondering if it counts as a publication per se. I would hate to answer "yes" to this question and have it look like I'm trying to exaggerate the extent of my experience. Any input is appreciated. Thanks SDNers!

I would absolutely not consider that a publication, which implies acceptance of one's work into a peer-reviewed professional journal. That's just my opinion though, so let' see what others think.

This is stuff that goes uner "non-peer reviewed". So it's an honest publication, but on the par with, say, the J Kansas Biology Soc.
