This is what they told me when I emailed recently.
QUESTION:
"Is this scenario acceptable or does it violate the rule that transcripts must be directly from the registrar's office?
Have official transcripts sent to me. Keep envelope sealed. Place that
envelope in a larger envelope and include the transcript matching
form. Can this be done? Or does it have to be directly from the
registrar?"
RESPONSE (error and all):
"Thank you for contacting ADEA ADSAS, this email is in response to your recent inquiry. No, you must arrange for an official transcript sent to ADEA AADSAS directly from your registrar's office. The transcript MUST state issued to directly to ADEA AADSAS. Transcripts not issued to ADEA AADSAS that contain your name or a stamp marked "issued to student" will not be accepted."
This goes along with what is in their written instructions as well as what's on the form. So why did ask? There were/are users reporting that it works, their friends did it, they called AADSAS and got approval, etc. Here is what I'd do, despite the risks and rules:
1. Call and ask ASDDAS for yourself
2. Contact the school and try again. If you're lucky they will do it for free, but I doubt it.
3. Roll the dice and put a matching form along with the sealed letter in a larger envelope and hope they'll take it anyway.
May as well try while you try to get your school to do it right. AADSAS
seems to give inconsistent answers so maybe you'll get lucky and they'll process it. Maybe if there is a also a matching form in the sealed envelope they will accept it.
