The school I'm applying to starts interviewing in January. Does this mean that even if I submit my application before that period, it will still be compared to everyone who has applied up until January? So my chances will be lower even though I submitted "early" which is very late already compared to other schools. The deadline for this school is in March.

I plan to submit my application this week, just finishing up my personal statement. I keep seeing people saying submit early but this school just opened up for applications last month.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

It is depended on the school that u apply too. If the school has rolling admission, you should apply early. Even though they won't start interview until January, the earlier u apply, the more chance you get an interview and the less competitive. If the school you apply dont have rolling admission, they wait until the deadline to look at all the applications and rank the applicants based on GPA,PCat,etc,...
From what I understand, the schools that have late deadline( feb or March) often use rolling admission. So you should apply as soon as possible.
I hope this help and good luck!

Thanks! Also I have a question about the supplemental applications. So on the schools website it says students that do not currently attend that school (me) must submit a supplemental application. However when I called the school they told me there are no supplemental apps. It's always the same person that is at the pharmacy department picking up the calls. I don't know if I should just listen to what she says despite what it says on the website.
Any advice?

It might help if you were willing to disclose the identity of this school.

Can you ask that person to transfer you to a director of admission or any amission committee?
May i ask you what school you are applying to? Do they post any other contact numbers on pharmcas website?
Most of the schools that i applied to have suppplemental applications. one of those school only provides supplemental application for people who are invited to the interview. Therefore, the best thing you should do is contact the admission committee for correct information.

The school is LIU in NY. I haven't seen any post about this school so I wasn't sure if anyone would be familiar with this school. I looked at their pharmcas site and there is a different number so I will try to call again tomorrow.

For the University of Wisconsin - Madison, the deadline for all materials (PharmCAS and Supplemental), is November 3rd. They are on a traditional application cycle, and will send out interview invites in December, and interviews on January 8th and 9th. They said it does not matter when you submitted your PharmCAS or supplemental application to when they tell you are accepted or not. It doesn't matter the order at all. It's sucks! This is my first choice of schools and it sucks they take forever! They did tell us on the open house they will be transitioning to rolling admissions! It's sucked either way!

well done,It might help if you were willing to disclose the identity of this school.thanks

I looked over the pharmcas and it says no supplemental application is required. However, on the website it says its required for students not currently enrolled in LIU.
http://www.liu.edu/Pharmacy/Admissions/PharmD/Getting-Started-Professional-Program
(the fourth paragraph)

I don't know if I'm misunderstanding something or what.

Oh i read it. From what i understand, if you are not curently students, you have to submit the Supplemental application which is LIU undergraduate application.
In most universities, you have to fill out an application in order to attend the schools. This LIU undergraduate form is the same thing. So I think they do not have a seperated supplemental application for pharmacy program. They only have this LIU undergraduate form for you to fill out. That is why they told you that they dont have supplemental application for pharmacy school.
Go to their website and search LIU undergraduate application, i think you can find the form. Just fill itout and you are done.🙂
I hope this helps. Sorry for any incorrect grammar

I found it. Its 18 pages application.
