Hey guys,

I wrote the Canadian DAT on November 5th 2011 and here were my scores:
RC18
Biology 19
Chemistry 17
Science total 18
AA 18
Perception 20
Manual Dexterity Test 19

My cGPA is 3.45 and I have an extensive list of extra-curriculars.

I'm a Canadian citizen and am finishing my 4th year at the University of Toronto.
I was wondering if you guys could tell me some U.S schools that I have a shot at getting in? Particularly those that are known for accepting Canadian students?

Thanks!

Alright, so your DAT is pretty much along the averages (maybe slightly below) for most schools that will be friendly to you. GPA averages tend to fluctuate.

These are schools I applied to this cycle as a Canadian: UoP, Penn, USC, BU, Buffalo, UDM, Minnesota, NYU, Case, Temple. From that list, Penn and UoP may be a bit tougher taking into consideration your GPA, but the rest you give you a chance. Apply early to give yourself the best shot.

Sorry to be the burden of bad news but as a Canadian, you're already at an huge disadvantage. Your DAT score is way too low, and your GPA is pretty low. Canadian friendly schools usually get plenty of Canadian applicants who are very competitive, and your chances are slim to none. I am trying to be realistic for you. Btw I am also a Canadian.

If I were you I would retake the DAT before applying. Your gpa is okay but competition between Canadians is pretty high for the limited spots at American DSchools.

Yea I'd actually agree with this too. You wont be able to change your GPA, but by taking the DAT again, you give yourself a better shot if you do better. If you want to take the Canadian DAT then think about taking it in February 2013 since the next shot after that will be November 2013, which will result in a late application.

First thing I notice is that none of the DAT sections are outstanding. OP might have a chance if s/he is not a science student. If OP is a science student, then the AA needs more work.

consider the american dat too
I agree. I wrote both the Canadian and American DAT this year. I found the American DAT a lot easier even though you have to study for Organic and Math. Also, you can write the American DAT anytime.

Def raise DAT's

Thanks for the advice guys.
I'll re-write it in February. It's just so hard to find practice for the reading section!
