On some secondaries I see that they ask for other schools that I'm applying to. Do you guys put down every school, or is it okay to fudge this section and leave out some schools? Would they find out if you don't tell them? IMO this is personal info that they have no business asking about, and I don't want any school to get the impression that they're my safety schools by listing places like Harvard and Penn.

To be absolutely honest, I agree with you. They have no business knowing this. It's ridiculous that they basically make it mandatory. I mean let's face it, we're going to dental school FIRST AND FOREMOST because we want to become dentists, not because we think one school is perfect fit for us or not. If that is the concern, then applicants really need to re-prioritize.

During your interview at some schools, they will ask you which schools you applied to, interviewed at and were accepted to. Be prepared to answer that as well. Freezing up then would not be ideal.

I also think it's no one's business where you applied but I listed all the schools I applied to previously (in my case it was 8).

I'm sure they have access to this information either way. I listed it because I don't want to come off as a liar and I really think it will not count against you. There are a ton of people reapplying every year so schools know.

what if say on the secondary of Dental School X, they see you're trying to play with them by putting Dental school X first when Dental Schools Y and Z (more prestigious schools) are listed below them?

Then I'd say you're over thinking it. If you're really torn up about it, just do alphabetical order.

That's a terrible start to a profession that demands ethics. I sure hope they don't already know this information.
