is this true, if not what pda do u guys recommend if i just want it for surfing the net, and typing notes in class, and looking up microscope slides online

don't know of any schools that give out pda's. There are some schools that do require a laptop and factor that into your financial aid. Dartmouth and Drexel are the two that I know of.

Laptop is probably more practical to have. The pda won't really be necessary till your third year.

"free" means it'll be part of your budget

If you want cheap web surfing get the Palm Tungsten C. It should be less than 250 at most places. It has built in wi-fi and a hi res screen 320x320 and has great run time with wifi on. Oh and it has a keyboard, must for web surfing with forms. and typing in addresses.

Dont get Pocket PC's for web surfring, they have 240x320, make a huge difference when web surfing (the palm is 50% wider)

The newer VGA (600x480) pocket pc's are 500+ dollars so its not really cost effective, and their battery life isnt very good. The Toshiba E805 is one, and the other one is an ASUS Mypal. only two VGA options for Pocket PC.

Schools giving out free Public Displays of Affection? Schwing! I hope I get a hot admissions office secretary.

Are you thinking of going into some sort of sugury specialty? Your statement just reminds me of "the Todd". Gotta love that guy! 🙂

I just ordered one of the new Tablet PCs. 🙂
Like a laptop, only better.

I hope it wasn't the Compaq. Everyone I know has had nothing but headaches with this machine.

The best one seems to Motion Computing's tablet. Just simply brilliant and worth every penny.

You have officially made me one very jealous individual! Be sure to PM me and let me know what you think. Kinda curious how quickly it wakes up from sleep and the battery power. Such a great tool for med school and soo damn cool!

Wake Forest gives free laptops to M1s and free PDAs to M3s for the low tuition price of 30,000+. 👍
