I'm curious, too. Are there any US med schools there ? I know a dominican doc who graduated from a dominican school there but you really need to know spanish well to apply there.

ROSS is there, you do not have to speak spanish, there is one other school too.

No, no....ROSS is not "there". ROSS is located on the island (Commonwealth) of Dominica, West Indies. It has nothing to do with Dominican Republic. For the other posters: there are no "American" schools anywhere outside of USA and its territories or Canada. All other schools are catering to US and Canadian students, but they are as foreign as they could possibly be. For D.R. med schools try UNIBE, UCE and just do a search. If you speak/read/write Spanish you could get in to a very good and cheap schools in D.R or anywhere in Latin America.

Instead of US schools, I should have said schools which take US federal loans. I've narrowed it down to UNIBE & UCE. I would choose UNIBE except you can never get licensed in California. I'm originally from California and I had hoped to go back there someday. And then UCE is not in Santo Domingo but a smaller town. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions ?
