I'm researching into OOS schools (outside of Texas) to apply to -- and saw that Tufts does not accept AP credits for pre-requisite courses unless you have equal # of credits for those same disciplines . Almost all my pre-reqs. are AP credits, with the exception of Orgo and Biochem. I have enough Bio classes to cover Intro Biology, but haven't taken another Chemistry or Physics course in college.

Can I still apply anyway, and take some Chem/Phys courses later if Tufts is the only school I get into? Is that allowed? Or should I not bother applying?

I'm asking because I have low sGPA, and need some OOS with lower acceptance GPAs.

Thank you!

I'd apply and at the same time just take science courses (the ones you received AP credit for) to raise your GPA (depending on how low it is). Should be easy A's or good prep for the DAT if you haven't taken it.

If you get in this cycle that's great, but this could be your plan B.

Thanks for replying!

Unfortunately, I'm graduating this year, so taking extra courses for post-bacc will cost a lot of money; and I can't afford that. (I got almost full financial aid throughout college--that was the only way I could pay for my education.) However, I was planning on taking a handful of science courses Spring 2012 to raise my sGPA, if I get absolutely no offer comes Dec 1st.
