well hi everyone im 16 years old and currently a junior in high school. not to long ago i started to take interest in anesthesiology. from what i understand it takes 12 years of school to finish anesthesiology. i was planning on doing my core college in utsa. but i have not found a medical school around san antonio texas in which i can complete medical school. i have found the residency program i would like to attend after medical school which would be the uthscsa. so can yall help me find medical school around san antonio texas that i may be able to attend. i have more questions regarding the salary of the anesthesiologist career, while i did my search i came across a site which stated that an anesthesiologist with certain specialties may be able to earn up to 700 thousand dollars , can someone confirm this for me please. i appreciate everything yall will do for me and in the future i hope i will be able to do the same for yall

Well i hope that nobody is making 700K. thats entirely tooooooo Low. I made 5.75 Millllion last year and that was with 22 weeks of vacation. I will probably take the next 3 years off to mountainbike and snowboard around the world.

but first I had to get into a good college and make good grades.

Good Luck

most anesthesiologists dont make even close to that number.. the only guys making that are in highly selective groups with a excellent payer mix and rarely do medicaid.. and pain practices.. Not my group we dont make even half that.

thanks davvid2700 for the info but still need the info on the local med school around san antonio

I believe the medical school you need is called "UT-San Antonio"

The odd name may have thrown you off. I believe its actually located in San Antonio, so begin your search there, in about 6 years.

Good luck.

dude.

as a 16 year old male, i can think of at least *one* thing you should be taking an interest in at this point other than anesthesiology.

don't worry about the details of med school yet. focus on doing everything you can get away with as a 16 year old without ending up in jail.

yeah like being out there gangbanging with the hommies when you should be studying.

Why are you so determined to stay in the same metropolitan area? There are places outside Texas. You should see them.

just keeping it real dude.

maybe so, but i maintain that the kid should be worrying less about residency programs when he is 16, and more about just being 16. i don't think his only two real choices are starting a critical care research project and slinging rock in the barrio.

that's all. 😉
