Hey guys,

I was wondering what schools accept students after third year. For example, I've completed my second year and I'll be going into third year this September but am planning on applying this June (This cycle).

I checked MSAR but wasn't sure where to look

Thanks!

None? It is required that you finish your bachelors

Most schools don't require this. It is possible to get into med school without a bachelors degree, though quite rare. Those that do generally stand out significantly.

Nobel laureates?
Go check some school websites to see what the requirements are for applying/matriculating. I know of at least 3 people who were accepted without finishing undergrad.

One of my friends applied after finishing his sophomore year. He was accepted to and matriculated at UToledo.

Anyways, it's not recommended that you apply this early as many adcom members will question whether you have the level of maturity to handle medical school and whether you have a serious commiment to medicine.

U Toledo has a program called Medstart. You apply junior year. they use high school and college GPA and SAT/ACT test scores. If you don't get in there is still time to take the MCAT.

None the less, you can get into the vast majority of med schools without a bachelors degree.

Thanks for the replies guys! Does anyone know where I would be able to find the information of which schools accept third year applicants? Would it be on the MSAR?

School websites.

I would guess that if you graduate in three years, then you can apply at the end of your sophomore year cause you'll have your bachelors prior to med school matriculation
