How do scandals at schools affect their application #s? I have a feeling it doesn't really affect it very much. It's sad to think there are many senior administration officials who turned a blind eye to the egregious behavior that has been recently reported...

Don't underestimate people's ability to check their morals at the door for a chance to become a doctor.

I think it may affect people's decision making after they've been accepted and have options to choose from.

Before then, it's apply anywhere and everywhere you think you have a shot.

I don't think scandals have much of an effect on # of applications. The only people who will turn down acceptances to scandaled schools are those people with 3.99 GPA's and 98% percentile on their MCATs and can pick and choose wherever they want to go.

If the defunct Trump University was handing out legit M.D. degrees and Commie Trump was charging $100,000 a year for tuition, they'd still get a ton of applications.

ohhh.... usc... ohhh
Between this latest scandal and the one last year with the Dean of the Med School, I honestly don't think it will hurt them in the least for attracting med school applicants. Too many applicants (especially those from California) willing to turn the other way for a chance to go to med school in CA.

They should probably change their name from University of Spoiled Children to something like University of Shady Characters or University of Scandalous Cover-ups...because they really are Up S h i t Creek right now.

Glad to see Nikias resign. I couldn't believe he didn't days ago when this story first broke...but as usual the powers that be stick their head in the sand and pretend there is nothing to see. But then when the NBC evening news opened with the story, you just knew the end was coming for him.
