hi all,
i know that all DO schools have a primary care emphasis, but some schools emphasize it more than others (e.g, ATSU, ACOM), so do you think it's a good idea to apply to those schools if i want to specialize later on?

all DO schools emphasize primary care, but some like rural medicine a lot. Some have regional bias as well, I would call each school you are interested in applying to and asking

And no, it won't hold you back if you want to specialize. Only your board scores will.

Not necessarily true. TCOM and KCU both don't emphasize primary care. I'm sure there are others, like MSU.

Just because you go to a school that emphasizes Primary care, if doesn't mean that you have to do Primary Care. We send a decent number of grads into specialties each year.
