Schools that grant deferrals?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Does anyone know of, or directly have experience with, DO schools that grant deferrals for good reason (not leisure travel - but not a major medical conditions, something somewhere in between)?

(I think CCOM doesn't no matter what? Is this correct?)

Check out each schools profile in the CIB. Look under the "Regular Acceptance Notice" heading and you should find "Requests for deferred entrance considered". It will give you a yes or no answer.

Good luck 🙂

TouroCOM must. I know someone who deferred. I dont think he even had a good reason. I believe he just chose to defer.

Thanks for the responses guys. My fiance and I are in a tricky situation with both applying to grad programs at the same time and I don't want to spend my first year of medical school apart, but I also don't want to not apply just on the chance we may not get accepted to programs within ~1 hour drive of each other. It's tough...

LECOM does not (at least for Erie and Seton Hill--I can't comment on Bradenton, but I would assume the policy is the same.)
