Hi all,

Was going through my school list and noticed that several of the programs require either 2 science and 1 non science LORs or a committee letter.

The programs that I came across are:

- PCOM PA and GA
- NYITCOM NY and AR
- Nova Southeastern
- Oklahoma State University

I'm not sure if schools give exceptions to this requirement and I have not called to ask. Hope this list is helpful and feel free to add any other schools that also have this requirement.

Best,
Jds

This is the average requirement.
I would just consider this a requirement and then get a DO/MD letter if you can.

Hi Blanky,

Thank you for your reply. From what I saw, most programs require 2 science letter writers plus the md/do letter, but only some require the third non-science professor letter. I could be wrong.

I wonder if these schools will accept letters in lieu of the non-science professor letter?

Thanks again!

Possible, that I do not know.

I think you do know! I have been told and have read that the standard is in fact 2 sci/1 non-sci, it's just that I don't the most schools require it.

Its also going to depend heavily on what schools want to accept, even if their site states what they "want."

This is not the average requirement.
There are 35 DO schools that only want 1-2 science letters and one that accepts any letters as long as the person "knows you well".

Are we only looking at the 35 DOs?

I got an interview at NYIT without a non science. I had two science and my DO letter
