I am pretty sure they all do..don't they? I mean, if you're a science major, it's almost impossible to get away w/o taking calc 1 and 2 (differential and integral). Check all the schools that you're applying to; they will address is specifically: if it says like 8 semesters of calculus, then it means 1 and 2 calculus, differential and integral.

Also, I don't support the dinner jacket man.

I actually think that most schools don't require 2, just 1 of college level calculus. I think just Harvard, Hopkins and WashU require 2.

for those on quarter, you can usually get by with 2 quarters of calc and 1 quarter of a 4 unit statistics course.

I won't be a science major. Im majoring in history and minoring in bio.

Most schools only require 1 semester, if that. Some will substitute stats for calc.

Im also a history major bio minor and I took one semester ( 4 credits) of stats. And one semester of calc. Only a handful of schools require a year of math. The majority want to see one semester, if that. Most say you can substitute Calc with stats.

Well the Uc's which i want to go to say 1 year of math so i was just wondering whether all other schools are like that.
Another issue is that i go to a community college and my brother brought up a very good point.
When you transfer to say ucla and you have taken say the first semester of calculus then you will still have to take 2 more quarters of calc for it to become a year. My question is will taking one semester of stats and calc be enough for 1 year of math?

Out of all the schools I've seen, only a small handful require 2 semesters of math. For all of those, they say (some even recommend) that statistics works for one of the semester.

Most schools don't require calc 2

Harvard, Duke, Johns Hopkins, and Wash U all require a full year of Calculus although at Johns Hopkins you can substitute 1 semester for Stats. Wash U actually requires Calc III as well. If you are looking at CA schools, I know UCLA requires Calc I and Stats.

Yeah i know thanks. However, my question is whether or not 1 semester of calc and 1 semester of statitistics in a community college will fulfill that requirement?

pertaining to Wash U:

Required course work includes a minimum of one year in biological science, general or inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics and calculus through integral and differential equations. However, statistics can be substituted for one semester of calculus and one semester of biochemistry can be substituted for one semester of organic chemistry.
