Schools that screen

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I got a 24Q on the MCAT (10 PS, 6 VR, 8 BS). Will any schools screen me out based on my low verbal scores. If anyone knows where I can find a link, that would be great. Thank you!

The score isn't low enough to get you screened out at DO schools.

I agree I think a 6 is at or above most cutoffs...

It may be questioned though... are you a native English speaker? if not, it will likely not be an issue, if you are, it may be an issue

I think there is one, maybe two, schools who do screen out 6's for any MCAT section...many schools do not. (i think ou-hcom and kcumb, maybe oklahoma state?) you can look at the webpages of the schools you like and the CIB to make sure you don't apply in vain

I feel your pain. Do you have a previous score? I think they will be pretty forgiving of you if you do. I got screened in everywhere so far, including UC schools.

CIB. Email every school you're interested in and ask.

Wow, I got the exact same scores per section, and the same writing score. Haha.

Touro Nevada has a cutoff of 25 and KCUMB says nothing below a 7 but I know people who've had a 6 in sections and have gotten in. Western might screen you out too because they've seemed picky but I don't think the publish their criteria.

I received a secondary with a 6 VR from Western.

I did too but I didn't get one until they received my new mcat (a 28), not when only my old one was available (a 24). I've never seen them publish how they screen so they're hard to pinpoint. KCUMB is the school that says nothing below a 7 but it seems like they don't enforce it that harshly.
