Hello everybody,
I am currently a 2nd year student at UVM doing undergrad credits to get into pharmacy school. I started doing my pharmCAS and hope to get that finished by the end of next week. I applied for my pharmacy technician license and have a job lined up in a local pharmacy. I'm taking the pcat for the first time in January and am looking for realistic schools that I can apply to. My overall GPA so far is a 3.23 but i'm expecting to do better this year. The credits I have already done are on a semester basis. I have no grades under a B-

8 Biology (w/lab)
8 general chem (w/lab)
6 calc
3 computer science elective
3 humanities elective

I am currently taking
4 molecular biology (w/lab)
4 organic chemistry w/lab
3 sociology
3 psychology
3 english

plan for next semester
4 organic chemistry
(biochemistry?)
etc...

plans for summer...

So far I'm applying to all of the Mass college of Pharmacy schools and I was wondering if there were any other accredited schools that would take me after 2 years? Any other advice is well appreciated, thanks alot!

Hi there. I'm from Connecticut, so if you are looking for schools locally to apply to, I'd suggest WNEC, ACHPS Vermont, and St. John Fisher. I am applying to all three of those, plus UConn. ACPHS and SJF are accredited, and WNEC will know about their status by January, so you'll know by then as well. All three schools would take you after two years, but make sure your pre-reqs are covered. Right now my first choice is WNEC, but a lot can change in the next few months. I'd suggest UConn as well, but they won't take out of state students as transfers (I'm guessing you are an in-state Vermonter😕). Sorry!

I'm not applying to MCPHS😡- I've heard too many horror stories from my neighbor who goes there, and SDN members don't have much nice to say about it either.

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely check out those other schools. I was planning on applying to the Albany school in VT but they changed their prereqs for the third time this year making it impossible for me to get in without another year at UVM under my belt 🙁 . I guess it's just my impatience speaking now so I'm pretty desperate to get out of Burlington. I grew up here and all of the hipsters are too much for me to handle.

Happy to help!🙂

I'm going to the open houses at WNEC on October 23 and at SJF on November 13...hope to see you at one of those!!
