Hi,
I will be participating in a Dental Internship in Nepal for 6 weeks this summer, so I'm curious what are school's views on these sorts of trips? Does it increase chances or are they against it due to ethical/legal issues? Thanks in advance.

It would probably look favorable since these communities are in need of help but I think it would look even better if you have a track record of helping your own community too. Don't do anything unethical and you won't have any issues.

This is a dental admissions panel hosted at UC Davis. If you applied, you would recognize some of the people on the panel. I would listen to what they have to say about certain things, especially since they're the ones who decide if you get in.

Awesome man thanks for this post, definitely nice to hear the differing opinions on volunteering abroad. I will keep this all in mind.
