I found a few schools that have research groups focused on the application of nanomaterials in biological systems (Harvard, Michigan, WashU, UCSD). I was curious if anybody here knew of any other groups or schools that have active nanotechnology research. I am not sure how common it is.

I will be applying to medical schools this summer, and I want to choose schools that have this type of research. My university didn't have a lab that applied nanomaterials to biological systems, so I did the next best thing and joined a lab that actually made the nanomaterials (I evaluated the mechanisms of nanoparticle synthesis to create novel and useful structures).

There is a MD/PhD at SUNY Downstate in conjunction with SUNY Albany in nanoscale engineering and medicine. From what I know, Albany's got an extremely competitive nanoscale science/engineering program. I'm not sure if this is something along the lines of what you're looking for, but I figured this should help a bit.
