Does anyone of the schools for which their secondary submission deadlines aren't November or January, but something firm like "to be considered you must submit within 3 weeks of receiving this secondary" or something? I think VCU was one and maybe UNC. Anyone know the others?

Miami advises within two weeks. Their secondary application is absolutely ridiculous, though - almost along the lines of Duke's. I've heard Wakeforest recommends two weeks as well. I've been slowly adding schools just in case I add a school where I can't complete the app quickly enough if they have a requirement.

Do you know where Miami advises 2 weeks? I saw nothing in their email or secondary application. I know, its hard because a lot of secondaries for me are reaching the 3 week point, I'm submitting a lot of them around 2.5 weeks. Not sure if there's a big difference there or not; I hope I'm just being neurotic lmao

It might have been in the PDF they sent? Or maybe in the FAQs or some other part of their website? I wouldn't worry about it since their secondary is really tough. It was advised, but certainly not required.

Thank you for your response! I was just wondering since I'm submitting a lot of my secondaries within 3-4 weeks (esp Duke with that massive one) since I'm traveling instead of the 2 that many schools talk about in their emails. Another question -- does the difference of a week or two this early in the cycle make as much of a difference in terms of the chances of nabbing an interview spot as it does later in the cycle?

I'm feeling your pain. I had to take a writing-intensive English class this summer while moving, doing research, and starting a new job. I feel way behind (and I started that Duke essay back in June). I actually am finally complete at half of my schools at this point, but I still have so many to go. If I had the option, I would have taken the summer off. That just wasn't feasible. I keep hearing that as long as we're complete by Labor Day, we should be OK. So I have given myself the hard deadline of being complete before my fall classes start - two weeks before Labor Day.
