Hi,

I'm applying this summer and I've been trying to find schools with low stats. UOP is my #1 school of choice, UCSF would be great too. I plan to apply to a good combination of schools in order to increase my chances of getting in. I've been trying to find schools with low stats but I would need help from you all. Do you guys know of schools with low stats .. which are relatively easier to get in? I was wondering if any of you guys have information on this .. I would really really appreciate your help.

Also I think someone mentioned in their post that they knew some tips to maximize chances to get into UOP. Is there anyone out there who knows helpful info about UOP?

Thanks 😛

Serina-

Hey. I'm glad to hear that UOP is your first choice. I hope you get in!

Well, I will not claim to know a sure-fire way of getting into UOP.

But obvious things such as good GPA (>3.0), DAT (>20), and dental experience will help.

Sometimes other not so obvious things like community/volunteer experiences, research, good letters of rec, strong personal statement emphasizing your "humanistic" side, and interview savy will work wonders.

I can't stress enough about making your application stand out in some way. Go above and beyond what everyone else is doing and has done. Make yourself unique and I'm sure that an interview invitation will come to you.

In the end, don't take my word for it, call the UOP admissions office and ask them yourself. In any case, best of luck with your dental aspirations. Keep us updated....

all the cali schools are very competitive. for stats on schools, the ADSAS people release a book every year that covers all the dental schools. Id give them a call.!
