I haven't taken the MCAT yet, but I'd still like to submit my application ASAP. I'm only yet applying to one MD, one DO school for the sake of verification. Which (of the few) MD schools send out secondaries regardless of MCAT?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Why are you submitting an AMCAS "for the sake of verification"? I think applying to one MD and one DO is stretching it thin, no? I would say take your MCAT to see how you did, then apply. Otherwise, you're wasting your time and money.

Also, SUNY Upstate has no secondary, the last time I checked.

I'd actually want to know as well, it would seem a pretty important factor in deciding which schools to apply to or not.

If I decide to apply after I see my scores (one month after I take it), I will also have to wait an additional period of time for verification. By getting verified before taking the MCAT, you reduce the extra amount of time you'd have to wait.

After you apply to one school to get verified, you can apply to more if you're content with your mcat score.

@Holy FranZ, thanks for the prompt reply.

I'm going to be doing this myself but why do you care about the secondary? I thought the point was to get AMCAS to verify your grades/transcript. I was just planning to send it to Harvard or somewhere that I would never get into.

👍 thanks for the clarification. I never knew, lol.

well your letters of recommendation are part of the secondary and it gives you a chance to set up a service like interfolio to submit them
