I'm taking my mcat in august. I am a texas resident and am only applying to texas schools what is a generally MCAT score I should aim for? Also would being a younger applicant hurt my chances? If I get accepted I would be 19 going into med school

Most schools there have an average around 30. I'm not in TX, but several students in my class were 19/20 when they started. Do you have a substantial amount of clinical experience (some states regulate this for under 18 volunteers)? If yes, you shouldn't have too many problems applying young.

There might be questions about your maturity.

That guy graduated in 2.5 years, and didn't get off the waitlist for a single Texas school until May / June. His stats / ECs all seemed to be pretty good, so his youth may have been a cause for concern (or he may have just had poor interviewing skills...who knows).
