Can any one provide information on what courses are included in the science GPA. I know it seems obvious but does it include the Pre-reqs(BIO,CHM,PHY, ORGO,MATHS) or is it the GPA of every single Science course for example Histology.

It is every single science and math course.

what's the diff between BCP and science GPA? How many different GPAs does the application have?

Thanks!!

You get 4 GPAs: BCP, Sciences, Non-Sciences, and Cumulative

There are also subtypes... those w/quality points (including your +'s and -'s) and those w/o (measuring an A- the same as an A or A+).

BCP stands for and includes Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Science includes your BCP classes + any other science classes like math.

Non-Sciences are everything else like humanities courses.

Cumulative is pretty self-explanatory.

Hope that helps. 🙂

Sorry, I forgot to mention that your BCP does include your pre-dental pre-reqs.

Ex. Gen Chem 1, 2 and O Chem 1, 2 are both calculated as part of your "C" or chemistry portion of the BCP.

So the only difference with Science GPA and BCP is that science includes math and BCP does not.

I took a Medical Terminology course... so according to this it's "non-science"?

This is a direct quote from AADSAS that should clarify where classes are included in your GPA. It's long, but very detailed, as to which classes count for which areas.

Use your best judgment to classify your courses as either Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Other Science (Sciences other than biology-chemistry-physics), or Non-Science. Use the examples below as guidelines.
Biology
Examples: Anatomy
Biology
Biochemistry
Biophysics
Botany
Chemistry
Genetics
Medicine
Microbiology
Neuroscience
Pathology
Pharmacology
Pharmacy
Physics
Physiology
Zoology

Chemistry
Examples: Biochemistry (if offered by a chemistry department)
Chemistry
General Chemistry
Inorganic Chemistry
Organic Chemistry
Chemistry for Engineering Majors (offered through engineering programs

Physics
Examples: Biophysics (if offered by a physics department)
Physics

Other Science Courses (Other science courses that do not fall under the categories of Biology, Chemistry or Physics
Examples: Agriculture
Animal Sciences
Astronomy
Clinical Sciences
Nutrition
Engineering
Health Technology
Geology
Kinesiology
Mathematics
Physical Sciences
Plant Sciences
Sports Sciences

Non-Science Courses (Humanities, Social Sciences, Health Services, Business and miscellaneous courses)
Examples: Anthropology
Art
Behavioral Sciences
Business
Computer Sciences
Communications
Economics
Education
English
Foreign Languages
Forensic Sciences
Geography
History Humanities

The AADSAS Transcript Processing Department will verify each course subject after receipt of your official transcripts.

Sometimes applicants complete courses in non-science departments that have an intense focus in a science field. For example, a student may take a course offered through the Psychology Department called Physiology of the Brain. In this situation, the applicant would classify the course as a Non-science, because all Psychology courses are classified as non-science. AADSAS will not re-classify that course as a Biology course, and it will not be used to compute your Biology-Chemistry-Physics GPA."
