what counts towards a science gpa? 😕 does my upperdiv science classes for my major counts towards it? or is just mostly the prereqs? for example.. does exercise biology 104 etc etc.. count towards the science gpa? confused.. 😕

speaking of which, does your major really affect anything?

ps thanks for answering my questions 🙂

Your upper division sciences will count towards your science GPA. I believe there is another GPA, your BCP GPA (which stands for Biology, Chemistry, Physics), that refers to your grades in the pre-req classes.

For anyone else replying to this thread, I have a related question. Does Psychology count as a science?

Psychology does not count as a science. An example used by AADSAS however, says that if you take a psych course such as a psych neurology course then it can be considered a science.

I majored in Exercise Science and all of my major classes were classified under science.

thanks for answering!! 🙂

so do dental schools mostly look at bcp, cumulative, or science gpa?

Are you sure about that? I thought every Biology, Chemistry, Physics class is included in BCP GPA. Not just pre-req ones. Anyone has an idea?

Hi Tygerm,

I have a similar major--Kinesiology. When you say that your classes where classified under science, do you mean that for your major, you have like BIOL 1XX - excerise physiology.

Just asking because I have some "science" classes, but they are classified under the Kin department. So my exercise physiology class was KIN 155. I do not think i can count that as science can I??
Just wondering your thoughts...

thanks
