How good is SCO? How many ppl get invited to interviews?

SCO has an excellent reputation in the Midwest. They have a great clinic with really updated facilities. Their patient base is well established and they have a wide variety of ages and cases. Their academics are good, and they have a good system of recording all the lectures so that you can listen to them as often as you need. They just opened a pretty cool practice management consultation office that's there to help train you to run your own practice. They offer a good amount of financial aid and work hard to make sure no students default on their loans. All the staff and faculty know who you are and make a point to make it a personal experience. Student life seems nice and students hang out a lot together.

The bad: Memphis is not a beautiful city and even the nice areas near campus have had a good number of break-ins. You can live away from downtown and probably find safer housing, but then you have to commute a lot.

When I interviewed there, there were probably about 6 other people interviewing the same day. I interviewed in October. I don't know how many people they interview overall, but I think they are expecting to accept you unless the interview really doesn't go well. I know people they have not extended interviews to and have rather conveyed that that person needs to improve their app first. They were also really straight forward with a friend of mine that interviewed their last year that he was interviewing for a spot on the waitlist. He did get in off the waitlist though.

Memphis is a beautiful city..

and as far as crime.. no different than any other big city.

in regards to interviews.. they conduct interviews only on Friday at this point and the amount of applicants varies from week to week.. I would say anywhere from 5 to 8 students.

I don't agree, I thought Memphis was one of the ugliest cities I've visited . . . and I got to go in late summer/ early autumn. But that was about the only thing I didn't like about SCO, everything else about the school was wonderful!
