hi everyone

i took the DAT twice, August 2007 & July 2008

four days after i took my july test this year, i requested an electronic score report (i clicked on "i took the test before" and "request scores for past test") - i received my official score report, but there are only the scores from last years reports, where the new score reports, do i need to request them separately, and pay a fee for each one, dont they all come together,

Uh-oh. ADA takes about 2~3 weeks to process your new scores, thus you should have chosen request scores for 'future test.'

Now you have to request it again...

Q: I have tested more than once; can I choose which scores are sent out?
A:You cannot choose to send any one particular set of scores. Our scoring system reports the four most recent sets of scores.
How do I submit an electronic request for additional score reports?
A:You may use the electronic score report system. Visit www.ada.org > Dental Admission Test > Request Score Reports (electronic). Score reports may also be requested by U. S. mail using the PDF form located at the same web address; payable by money order only.

crap...i sent my "official score report" out a week after my exam....and i chose send scores from previous exam since i took the test week b4...i didnt ask them to send me an official report....so how do i know if they sent both my scores? i paid 650 for this i dont wnat to pay another 650 to send scores from my 2nd exam....i know they send up to your previous 4 exam...but if they already sent out my scores and it only included the scores from the first time....am i screwed or is it their fault...bc when i clicked on the button for previous exam IT MEANT YOUR PREVIOUS EXAM.....it didnt say something like "unless you took it within the past 3 weeks or something"

Call ADA on Monday.
But, I think you will probably have to spend another $650...

hi, ya i agree, im so stressed out too, i cant wait till morning, you know whats killin me is that i called ada, and the lady told me "you can do it over the phone or online" and i told her that i took my exam this week

im gettin up early to call them, and am going to ask for the supervisor, ill post response right away

Hi everyone. Ok I called them. heres the news, i took my second exam on july 19th, and the rep told me that the scores are still not processed, and that i have to keep on waiting, i told my situation and that it was an honest mistkae, and no where throughout the process it said to "wait"

they agreed to send another one free of charge, that i have to submit in writing either faxing to them or letter, they gave me a supervisor name so you have to call to do that too, and explain ur case too

I had the same situation, I swear to you if i didnt see this thread I would have not called til I came back to the states from Europe Aug. 13th and I would have had to wait even longer for them to send it.

First of all once my scores are sent and I get into 1 school I am going to complain about this because really it is very unfair. Logically if you take the test July 18th and ask for a request to send your scores July 20th you took the test PREVIOUSLY (2 days back is a previous date). I asked like 20 people what they thought that meant logically and which they would pick and 100% said previously. I dont understand why they would assume we know how long scores take to process. Their job is to process the scores, our job is just to request the scores so we dont know how long it will take.

Anyways my case:
I took my retake July 18th and as I stated above asked for electronic score report to schools on July 20th. As a lot of people have done I picked previous test scores. I was freaking out today and I called them and the lady said she would send the new scores out FREE OF CHARGE (i didnt have to fax anything). I then rushed home to call my top schools and let them know that the new DAT scores are on their way and not to evaluate my application til they get the new scores. They basically said thank you for letting us know, but we already knew that. Again logically from AADSAS they know this stuff so its fine.

So dont freak out if this happened to you, just fix it and you will be fine!!!

wait, do u have to request scores AGAIN after u take the test even if you already put down the schools when u signed up for the test?? don't the scores get sent to those listed schools automatically after u take the test??

Step 5: Scores
Immediately upon completion of the DAT, a score report and explanation is provided directly to you at the Prometric Testing Center. This unofficial report is subject to review and audit for accuracy before official reporting of scores. This will be your only copy. No other score report will be sent to you.
Official score reports will be sent directly to dental schools requested on the DAT application approximately 3–4 weeks after the test; five score reports are included in the application fee.
Requests for score reports after the test are subject to delay and additional expense. Once an application has been submitted, no score report request changes will be allowed.

uh it doesnt say newhwere 2 weeks this or 2 weeks that...seriously how hard is thier job....they make mistakes on teh DAT itself and then they make mistakes on this crap...they know we are very stressed out neways and they are just amking us go crazy with their mistakes

I agree. I was like, "yes I took the DAT about 2 weeks ago" and the lady very rudely was like "yes thats future", and I searched through both their online stuff and their adobe file they have you check off, it didnt mention anything about it. Whatever, I'm glad I'm not charged an extra amount b/c it would be crazy.

Note for others: If you have requested your scores within a 2 week range after your exam, call them immediately and check to see your second scores are sent. If you do take your DAT the second time, wait about 2+ weeks, call them to see they have your scores, then request.

Boy, I'm sure glad I requested scores to be sent to me b/c this would have gone unnoticed, and I would be in **** when I find out month later that my scores are not there.

How do I add schools? I haven't taken the test yet, but I would like to add some schools before I take the test. Thanks!

This happened to me last year! I found out TWO MONTHS after my DAT exam that they had sent the old scores to the schools.

I spoke to the supervisor last year trying to explain that I completed the form AFTER taking my DAT so I requested the "previous exam scores". I was trying to make her understand that future exam is in the future which has not come yet and “previous” is a time in the past....how could I request the future scores when I was not taking the DAT in the future? 😕

She said they were going to fix the form, but apparently it’s still the same 👎thumbdown
