Hey Guys, I know a lot of people post their scores and want opinions on them, so here's one more. Some background.. I am a junior, have a 3.77 GPA (would be much higher, but I've made 8 A-'s which count as 3.75), and should have pretty good rec letters from my teachers. I just took the DAT for the first time, and here are my scores:

PAT: 20
QR: 19
RC: 25
Bio: 22
GC: 21
OC: 21
Total science: 21
AA: 22

I don't know where I want to go to school yet, but I live in Tennessee so I have been considering UT Memphis. Should I retest? ((I really don't want to, haha))

why retake it? the only area of needed improvement is your QR, I'm relatively new to the application process but your TS and AA are pretty good, coupled with your GPA I think you'd be a competitive candidate and could get into a good school. It depends on your extracurriculars too of course, but I'm assuming that's average.

You've got solid scores. Nothing less than 19. You don't need to retake.

Very good scores - you'll be top 5-10% of applicants as far as academics go. Now it's time to shadow!

Thanks guys! I appreciate it! Yeah shadowing is the one area I'm not strong in, so I'm going to get on it!! So relived to have this part of the process behind me 🙂

Haha yeah that's the first post I saw so I was kind of discouraged! And it may be a 3.7, I'm not entirely sure!

definitely solid. while a 19 has a 1 in front, it is still solid. I wouldn't retake it. 22 AA is great!

omggggg don't let these people get you down..

your scores are wonderful! congratulations! you should be very proud of yourself.

Dude, if you get rejected from any place, ask them why.

I don't think you'll have much trouble getting into most places and you definitely don't need a retake. Who the hell suggested to you that you need a retake? Your scores are great and your good GPA will only further solidify your academic excellence in the eyes of admissions councils.
