Does anyone have a scramble plan? Im sure their wont be may spots to scramble into for anesthesia at least. I did not apply for any prelims, since I can scramble easily into an osteopathic internship.

Would is the best thing to do? Scramble for a prelim med, reapply next year?

I heard that you can scramble for a internal med residency, but since it is only three years, if you end up transferring over to anesthesia, you will be one year unfunded. Is this true?

Does anyone have a plan?

I'm burying my head in the sand Sunday evening, March 11th. In this sand hole I will have two straws- one leading above ground for air, one into a large water tank.

I'll reemerge on the eve of March 15.

Better make sure you have a cap on that straw with the water tank..or you'll either be really wet or won't make it till the 15th

Don't forget the pee straw, or the poop bag

Good call.

But seriously, in response to ketafol's post ... I have no back up plans. But if I didn't match, I would probably do my preliminary year to get it over with. Then go from there..

Good luck!

If I go unmatched I'm going to go back to school and get an MBA. Then I'm going to get a job with an insurance company so I can be a billionaire while laughing as the goverment looks to cut everyones salary but mine.

Either that, or I'm gonna be a porn star.

In response to the initial post. Anesthesia is full of people who completed part or entire residencies before coming to anesthesia. I completed residency training in another specialty before I started my anesthesia training.
