Scrambling into a prelim. position

Hey guys,

I am currently applying for Orthopaedics. I am starting to think it is likely I won't match. How difficult is it to scramble into a medicine preliminary position? General surgery preliminary position? I'd like to avoid the malignant ones if possible. Thanks

General surgery prelims are wide open. It's a little tougher to land a good medicine prelim, but I don't think it would be too hard.
