Scratch work on DAT

So from what I hear/read they give you like a dry erase board and a marker or something? Does that mean paper and pen/pencil is out of the question? Or is that an option? Cuz my hand writing with markers is horrid, and with the speed at which i do scratch work my writing won't even be legible haha. Any insight on this?

can't use paper and pencil. Only the fine tip marker and laminated paper they give you.
