With a 28, you are lower than the average, but its only the average. Apply to lots of lower tier MD schools and make sure you have a reason for actually wanting to go there.
 
cGPA: 3.75 (3.4 from CC for the first year and 3.89 from my undergraduate)
sGPA: 3.94

Major: Biomedical sciences

I have 3 abstract publications and 2 more that just got accepted.
Working on 2 manuscripts..

Excellent Letters from very respectable people.
Overall strong essay..

Over 300 hours of community/medical/shadowing... very strong.. traveled internationally for some... etc...

My MCAT is disappointingly low...

I know I can get 30 - 34 because that was what I was getting on the AAMC!

What should I do? Should I even apply?

I have a friend with lots of clinical experience and a lower MCAT than yours (25) that got into st.louis uni, she is a URM (i'm still unsure how much this affects adcom decision). Also she just recieved her acceptance this week. She was not accepted anywhere else
