How much impact does having a scribe position have on medical application? What were your experiences in being a scribe while being a full time student?

How much impact does having a scribe position have on medical application?

Scribing while being a full-time student can be mostly stressful; at my site we were usually understaffed, so we don't have much flexibility to get out from night shift/weekend shift. Expect to take your midterm a few hours after your night shift.

When I scribed, I only enrolled in the minimum units to stay full-time.

Unless you need the money, you should prioritize your school work, and perhaps do research. You can always scribe during a gap year.

Scribing isn't inherently better or worse than any other clinical exposure. It all matters what you take away from it. How well you can write and speak about it.

Some people have very beneficial experiences from scribing, others don't really get much out of it.
