Last week I met with the Abbott rep re pricing. My new practice wasn't doing SCS before I got here.

I think they are giving me a fair shake on the IPG pricing, as they are selling their new IPG for 19,000.

However, I'm wondering about the trial lead pricing. My recollection is that 500 per trial lead is fair, 300 is good. They are selling a 2 lead trial kit, which includes the connectors etc for $1700. That seems high to me. What prices are you guys getting for your trial leads (including the connectors) from from Abbott? (or elsewhere)

As I mentioned, the permanent IPG is selling for what I think a reasonable 19,000 but the perm leads that go with the IPG, cost a total of $2200

What do you guys think about that?

Mine are all free.

At least I do not pay for them....

LOL,
Super helpful...

I also have same question re DRG trial and implant costs

They are quoting 21800 for DRG IPG,
1600 for 2 lead DRG trial kit and 2000 for perm DRG lead kit.

So total DRG implant cost of 23800 which seems high to me?

Could really use everyone’s thoughts on this.... besides Steve , lol

Trial cost is a total ripoff. I pay $300 for a trial with Boston and MDT and a little more for Abbott but not that much. This is ASC I presume? Tell them to sell the leads to the office and bring them to the ASC.

DRG price is about the same for me.

Thank you. Do you mean paying 300 per lead, or 300 total per trial (using 2 leads) ? Does that include connectors, which I assume are like 30-50 dollars?

Site of service... I do nearly all my trials in the office and after the L codes went aways (L8680), the price for leads went way down as well. Any connectors, long needles, anchor, etc., all thrown in for free from all the companies. I don't really care at the ASC for perms, as I don't pay for that equipment and I'm sure the ASCs have people whose job is to negotiate pricing.

Wow, that is really cheap. Are those regular stim trials or DRG trials? Are you in office or ASC based?

Thanks

Scs leads. Drg leads are not much far off... I think 100 each? Im in office. This practice has been in bed with abbott for a long time

MDT sold me 10 lead kits for in office SCS trials for $600

I got the same trial lead bundle. It’s part of their initiative to promote DTM. Sadly the trial leads can’t be used for the perms.

DTM has failed me twice already . I keep asking my rep on it and they r “ still getting trained on it”

Really? So far it’s been 100% trial to perm with the 3 patients I’ve done.

DTM Trial to perm has been the same as normal. About 10 trials with 1 or 2 not as advancing to permanent.

Anything truly special about DTM?
In my new area, the Abbott, Nevro, and Boston reps have been responsive and helpful, the medtronic not so much. I don't want my patients to miss out if DTM really matters, but for now I'm not inclined to give business to medtronic if they're otherwise not helping me grow my business

Nothing like it to me, rep claims otherwise

so if you are in a competitive market you can prob cut a deal at very low cost (below 100-200) there are ways to also get it free. they make money from ipg not trial leads.

Wow. Very expensive. Paying 200 total for TWO trial leads with MDT. Meeting Abbot next week and believe they will match it.

Pay $100 per lead with Boston. When I use Nevro they price match.

Nevro price matched at $100/lead for me just based on me saying I’d heard other docs were getting leads for $100 from a competitor.

Are you guys getting these 100 lead prices for in office or ASC trials?

I think I could talk them down to 100 for in office, but they know we make more on ASC trials.

Thinking maybe $300 is a reasonable target for ASC trials , ......unless you guys are getting $100 for ASC trial leads?

Good price in ASC is $750 a lead. Best I’ve ever heard was $500 per lead, high volume place with exclusive contract with one company.

In office. Not sure what the ASC pays.
