My friend is applying to (History) PhD programs and is really jealous when she sees the amount of data about the application process I get through SDN. Is this unique to neurotic pre-med students, or is there some equivalent forums for other graduate programs that I haven't been able to find? Of course the amount of students applying to history PhDs are is much smaller, so the data is not going to be quite as good, but any resources would be much appreciated.

I've been wondering this, too. My boyfriend is applying to biology PhD programs and doesn't have any good resource for advice/strategy/cycle updates.

I know a similar board exists for MBA applicants.

Although colllege confidential is more geared toward ugrad admissions, they have a large sub-forum for grad school

Yes I've heard this as well about college confidential. But It's funny you brought up college confidential though because I had a friend the other day who used that site for medical school info like SDN. I got curious and looked around.

I guess it was alright, I obviously prefer SDN but something I found strange Is that many of the members giving advice on the process, taking the MCAT and what are my chances kind of stuff, were mothers lol As in they didn't apply but their kids/grandchildren did. It was very strange and for some reason, I just didn't like that, idk why, it just felt weird. Some of these parents were talking as if their adcom's without any first hand experience and people were just eating it all up.

However, maybe it was just those 2 or 3 threads I happened to see and isn't representative of the majority
